1. FC Magdeburg has strengthened with young striker Kevin Manthey, who joins from Werder Bremen II. The 19-year-old brings a package with size and speed that is not often seen. Manthey was mostly trained at Werder in recent years, but played for TSG Hoffenheim's U19 in the 2024/25 season. After a year, the attacker returned to his hometown. In the last season, he scored 12 goals and two assists in 30 games. "Kevin brings a package as a striker with size and speed that is not often seen. He has gained valuable experience in the men's sector after his switch from Hoffenheim back to Bremen and has developed well. Overall, he is a player with a very exciting profile and great potential. We are just as convinced as he is that he will find the optimal conditions with us to take the next step in his development," said Sport Director Peer Jaekel about the young player, who will soon be active in professional football for the first time. Manthey emphasized: "I'm very happy to be able to play for 1. FC Magdeburg in the future. For me, it's a big chance to prove myself at a club like FCM in professional football. Together with the responsible persons, I want to take the next step in my career and develop myself as well as possible here at FCM." According to a report, FCM is also wooing PEC Zwolle's defender Anselmo García MacNulty.
