The Public Prosecutor's Office has filed charges of attempted murder. A 29-year-old German must answer to the Magdeburg Regional Court. The accused is sufficiently suspected of attempted murder. In the indictment, the 29-year-old is accused of participating in the clashes against police officers at the duel between FCM and Dresden at the Avnet Arena on January 24, 2026. So, the accused allegedly threw a 15-kilogram concrete block with full force and from close range at the police officers in the police cordon. The stone hit a police officer in the head. The weight and size of the stone and the short throwing distance lead the Public Prosecutor's Office to the conviction that the accused at least recklessly accepted a fatal injury. The 1. FC Magdeburg was punished with a partial ban on fans after the violent clashes, in which more than 70 police officers were injured. In addition, the second-division club had to pay a fine of a total of 186,600 euros.
